A university professor who makes almost a ritual of walikng to
work, rain or shine, consented to accept a lift from a friend who
overtook him hiking along the way through a heavier-than-usual mist.

As the professor climbed in, the driver noticed he wore only one
rubber and exclaimed sympathetically, "Lost a rubber, huh?"

When the professor answered no, his friend demanded, "Isn''t it a
bit odd wearing only one?"

The professot said, "Only one shoe has a hole in it."

비가 오건 해가 반짝이건 한결같이 걸어서 출퇴근하는 교수가 어느날
유달리 짙은 안개속을 걸어가다가 지나가던 친구의 차에 편승했다.

차에 올라타는데 보니 그는 고무덧신 한짝만을 신고 있었다.

안됐다 싶은 생각에서 한마디 했다.

"한짝은 잃어버린게로군"

아니라기에 "한짝만 신고다닌다는건 좀 이상하잖아?"하고 다시 물었다.

"한짝에만 구멍이 났거든"

교수의 대답이었다.
