The wealthy old gentleman, and his wife were celebrating their 35th
wedding anniversary, and their three grown sons joined them for dinner.

The old man was rather irritated when he discovered that none of the
boys had bothered to bring a gift, and after the meal he drew them
aside.

"You''re all grown men," he said, "and old enough to hear this. Your
mother and I have never been legally married."

"What?" exclaimed one of the sons.

"Do you mean to say we''re all bastards?"

"Yes," snapped the old man, "and cheap ones, too."

돈 많은 늙은 부부의 결혼 35주년을 축하하는 저녁식사에 장성한 아들 셋이
자리를 같이 했다.

아무런 선물도 갖다주지 않는 아들놈들에게 좀 괘씸한 생각이 든 아버지는
식사가 끝난 후 그들을 한쪽으로 불러놓고 말했다.

"너희는 모두 어른이라 이제 이 사실을 알고 있어야 할 나이가 됐다. 너의
어머니하고 나하고는 정식으로 결혼한 사이가 아니야"

"뭐라구요? 그럼 우리는 모두가 사생아라는 말인가요?"하고 아들 하나가
소리쳤다.

"그렇단다. 이 쩨쩨한 놈들아" 노인은 내뱉듯 말했다.
