A firebrand women''s-lib activist was invited to speak at a teamsters''
union convention.

Addressing the all-male audience, shd delivered an impassioned speech
arguing for the vital role to be played by females.

Concluding her speech, she declared, "After all, woman was the
foundation of this country, the United states of America!"

"Maybe so," rumbled a voice from the back of the room, "but remember
who laid the foundation."

받았다.

남성일색의 청중을 상대로 그녀는 여성이 맡아야 할 중대한 역할을 논하면서
열변을 토했다.

연설을 마무리지으면서 그녀는 이렇게 말했다.

"결국 따지고 보면 여성은 미합중국이라는 이 나라의 기초였습니다!"

이때 대회장 뒤쪽에서 이런 소리가 들려왔다.

"어쩌면 그랬을테지. 하지만 누가 그 기초를 다져놓았는지를 알아야지"
