A farmer lived alone with a pet dog.

One day the dog died, and he went to the church and said, "Father, the dog is dead. Could you say a mass for the creature?"

The priest replied, "We cannot have services for an animal, but there''s a new denomination down the road, and maybe they''ll do something for the animal."

"I''ll go there," said the farmer.

"Do you think $50,000 is enough to donate for their services?"

The priest asked, "Why didn''t you tell me the dog was Catholic?"

농부는 정든 개 한마리만을 데리고 살고 있었다.

어느날 개가 죽자 그는 교회로 가서 "신부님, 개가 죽었는데 미사를 봐주실 수 없을까요?"하고 물었다.

"우리는 짐승을 위한 미사는 볼 수 없습니다. 저쪽으로 가면 새 교파가 있는데 거기서는 어쩌면 짐승을 위해 뭔가를 해줄지도 몰라요"라고 신부는 대답했다.

"그리로 가보겠습니다. 예배값으로 5만달러를 내면 될까요?"라고 농부는 물었다.

"왜 개가 가톨릭신도라는 이야기를 하지 않았죠"라고 신부는 말했다.
