A woman, in charge of the part-time help hired by an order of nuns, confided to the mother superior, a nun of 70, that she always felt uncomfortable telling the young girls about the need to be careful around certain of the older male patients.

The mother superiop volunteered to give it for her, and reduced the woman''s 30 minutes of embarrassed rambling to a one-liner which became famous around the place.

"Girls, just remember-old isn''t dead."
