The old lady, a staunch Baptist, had taken her grandchild to Sunday school and church regularly.

So when he switched to the Episcopal Church after marriage, she challenged him : "What''s wrong with the Baptist Church, George?"

"Well," he explained, "Carole and I flipped a coin to see if we would go to her church or mine, and I lost"

"Serve you right," said the grandmother.

"Good Baptist don''t gamble!"

그런데 그가 결혼해 성공회로 교적을 옮기게 되자 할머니는 손자에게 따졌다.

"침례교가 어디가 어때서 안다니는 거냐?"

"있잖아요, 두 사람이 나가는 교회를 한 군데로 정하기 위해 캐럴하고 동전 튀기기를 했는데 제가 그만 졌지 뭡니까?"

"그래 싸다, 침례교를 제대로 믿는 사람은 도박일랑 안 하는 법이야!"
