A dignitary, visiting Africa, made an appearance before a large gathering of natives.


He launched into a long,rambling anecdote that went on for the better part of a half hour.


The natives were respectfully silent.


When he had concluded, his interpreter rose and said four words, Everyone laughed uproariously.


The dignitary was stunned.


"How could you tell my story so puickly?"


"Story too long," said the interpreter.


"So I say-- 'He tell joke Laugh'."



"아프리카를 방문중인 거물급 인사가 그곳 사람들이 많이 모인자리에 나섰다.


그는 반시간 가깝게 두서없이 이야기를 늘어놓았다.


그의 이야기가 끝나자 통역이 일어나더니 단 네 마디를 했다.


그러자 다들 폭소를 터뜨렸다.


그 명사는 사뭇 놀랐다.


"어떻게 내가 한 이야기를 그토록 빨리 전할수 있었습니까?"


"이야기 너무 길어해. 그래서 우리 사람 말하기를, '이 사람 웃기는 소리 하니 다들 웃어해' 라고 했어" 라고 통역은 말하는 것이었다.
