The visiting psychologist, to prove that the teacher had failed to train her class to npay attention, went to the blackboard and asked for someone to suggest a number．

"Thirty-five," called out one student．

The psychologist thereupon wrote 53 on the board．

"Another number?"

"Nineteen."

So he wrote 91．

Then followed 47, which was written 74．

"How about sixty-six？ Let’s see what you can do with that," called out one student who was paying attention．


학생들이 주의를 집중하도록 선생이 제대로 지도하지 않았다는 걸 보여주기 위해 방문객인 심리학자는 흑판으로 가더니 아무나 숫자 한 가지를 대보라고 했다．

"삼십오요"라고 한 학생이 소리쳤다．

그 학자는 흑판에 '53'을 썼다．

"다른 숫자 대봐요."

"십구요."

그러자 이 번에 쓴 건 '91'이었다．

다음으로 47이 나오자 칠판엔 '74'라고 썼다．

"육십육은 어떡합니까？ 어디 좀 봅시다"라고 주의를 집중하고 있던 학생이 말했다．
