A young man needed $200 to get his car fixed．

But he had run out of people to borrow from．

So, he calls his parents via operator．

"Dad, I need to borrow two hundred dollars," he says．

At the other end, his father says, "Sorry, I can’t hear you, son."

The boy shouts, "Two hundred. I need two hundred dollars!"

"Sorry, I still can‘t hear you clearly," says his father．

The operator cuts in, "Sorry to butt in, but I can hear him perfectly clearly."

The father says, "Good. You send him the money！"


젊은이는 차를 수리할 돈 2백달러가 필요했다．

그런데 그에게 돈을 꿔줄 사람이 없었다．

그래서 교환수를 통해 집으로 전화를 걸었다．

"아버지, 돈 2백 달러가 필요합니다."

"얘, 무슨 소리를 하는지 들리지 않는구나"라고 아버지는 말했다．

"2백달러, 돈 2백달러가 필요하다고요"라고 아들은 소리쳤다．

"아직도 무슨 소리인지 알아듣지 못 하겠다．"

그러자 교환수가 끼어들었다．

"참견해서 죄송하지만, 저는 아주 잘 들리는데요."
아버지가 대답했다．

"좋아요．그럼 당신이 저 애한테 돈을 보내줘요!"
