Three sisters ages 92， 94， and 96 lived in a house together.

One night the 96－year－old was in the bath. She yelled down the stairs， "Was I getting into or out of the bath？" The 94－year－old yelled back， "I don't know.

I'll come up and see." She started up the stairs and paused.

Then she yelled， "Was I going up the stairs or down？" The 92－year－old sat at the kitchen table having tea， listening to her sisters. She shook her head sadly and said， "I sure hope I never get that forgetful."

She knocked on the table for good measure. She then yelled， "I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door."


92세，94세，96세의 세 자매가 한 집에서 살고 있었다.

어느 날 밤 96세 된 언니는 욕실에 있었다. 할머니는 한 발을 욕조에 넣은 채 머뭇거렸다. 그리고는 아래층에 대고 소리를 질렀다.

"나,목욕을 시작하려는 거였는지,끝내려는 거였는지 모르겠어." "나도 모르겠는데 올라가서 봐줄 게"라고 94세의 할머니가 대답했다. 계단을 올라가던 할머니는 멈춰 서서 소리쳤다.

"나,올라가고 있었는지,내려가고 있었는지 모르겠네？" 부엌 식탁에서 차를 마시고 있던 막내는 언니들의 소리에 귀를 기울이고 있었다. 서글프게 고개를 저으면서 그녀는 말했다.

"저 지경으로 치매에 걸리지는 말아야지." 이렇게 말하면서 식탁을 탕 내리친 할머니는 소리를 질렀다. "현관에 가서 누가 왔나 보고 나서 올라가 도와줄 게."
