As seniors， we were immersed in planning for life after graduation. Our professor told us about a friend who had used a creative approach when applying for a job.

He had studied up on the firm and granted an interview in another city. He arrived in a clean T-shirt， jeans and sneakers. When questioned about his unusual attire， he responded that he wanted to impress them with himself， not his clothes.

The next day they saw him， he said， he would be wearing a suit. He was hired. We were marveled at his bravery and ingenuity. A classmate asked the professor how the fellow had come up with such a brilliant idea.

"It was simple. On his trip to the interview， the airline lost his luggage."


대학 졸업을 앞둔 우리는 졸업 후의 진로설계에 몰두하고 있었다. 교수님은 기발한 방법으로 취직면접을 봤던 그의 친구분 이야기를 들려주었다. 지망하는 회사에 관해 철저하게 조사한 그는 다른 도시에 있는 그 회사에 가서 면접을 보게 됐다.

그렇게 중요한 날에 그는 깨끗한 티셔츠에 청바지，운동화 차림으로 출두했다. 옷차림이 유별난 사실에 대해 질문을 받자 그는 자신의 옷차림이 아니라 자신의 사람됨을 보여드리고 싶은 거라고 대답했다.

그리고는 다음 번에 뵐 때는 정장차림이 될 것이라고 했다. 그는 채용됐다. 우리는 모두 그분의 용기와 기발한 착상에 감동했다. 한 학생이 어떻게 그분은 그렇게 신통한 생각을 하게 됐던 거냐고 물었다. "별거 아니었어.면접보러 가느라 탔던 비행기에서 가방이 없어졌던 거야."
