A zebra that had spent her entire life in a zoo was sent to farm to spend her final years in peace． The zebra was excited to see the huge space with green grass and hill and trees and all these strange animals． She ran up to a big fat brown thing． “Hi， I’m a zebra． What are you？“ ”I‘m a cow．” “What do you do？” “I make milk for the farmer．” The zebra then ran over to a little white thing． “Hi， I’m a zebra． What are you？“ ”I‘m a chicken．” “What do you do？” “I make eggs for the farmer．” Then the zebra saw a very handsome beast that looked almost exactly like her without the stripes． She ran over to it and said， “Hi， I’m zebra． What are you？“ ”I‘m a stallion．” “What do you do？” “Take off your pajamas and I’ll show you.”

평생을 동물원에서 지내온 얼룩말이 말년을 평화롭게 지내라고 농장에 가게 되었다． 푸른 초원과 언덕과 나무들 그리고 생소한 동물들이 흩어져 있는 광활한 평야를 보자 얼룩말은 흥분했다． 덩치가 큰 갈색의 커다란 동물에게로 달려가서 물었다． “난 얼룩말인데， 넌 뭐야？” “난 암소야．” “네가 하는 일은 뭐야？” “난 농부에게 우유를 만들어줘．” 다음으로 작은 흰 동물에게로 달려갔다． “난 얼룩말인데 넌 뭐야？” “난 닭이야．” “넌 뭘 해？” “난 농부에게 알을 낳아 줘．” 그 다음으로 얼룩말은 얼룩만 없달 뿐 거의 자기를 꼭 닮은 동물에게로 달려가서 “안녕， 난 얼룩말이야． 넌 뭐야？” “난 종마야．” “넌 뭘 해？” “너 그 파자마 벗어봐． 내가 뭘 하는지 보여 줄 께.”
