On his way home from work，my father，a music lover，was listening to a tape of Mozart in his car when he was pulled over by a state trooper.As Piano Concerto No.23 was softly playing，the officer told Dad that he had been speeding.Explaining why this couldn't be true，my father said his concerto tape was almost 24 minutes long and if he gets home too early，he doesn't hear the whole last movement.

When Dad showed the trooper that there were several minutes left on tape，the trooper let him go.


음악애호가인 아버지는 퇴근길에 모차르트의 테이프를 틀어놓고 운전하다가 경찰관의 제지를 받았다. 피아노 콘체르토 23번이 나직이 연주되는 가운데 경찰관은 아버지를 보고 과속운전을 한 거라고 했다. 아버지는 그럴 리가 없다면서 그건 24분 가까이 가는 테이프인데 너무 빨리 집으로 가면 마지막 악장을 다 듣지 못한다고 설명했다.

테이프 플레이어에 아직 몇 분인가가 남아있다는 게 표시된 걸 보여주자 경찰관은 아버지를 보내줬다.
