I often play classical music at home，hoping my children will learn to appreciate it.One day I thought I had made progress when I came home from work an opera album being played.My teen-age son was just leaving the house， and I congratulated him on his new musical interest.

"I wasn't listening to it，" he replied."I only put it on to scare away burglars."



난 집에서 고전음악을 자주 틀어놓는데 아이들이 고전음악에 취미를 갖게 됐으면 하는 생각에서다. 그러던 어느 날 참 그렇게 애쓴 보람이 있구나 싶었다~~ 퇴근해 집에 와 보니 집에서 오페라 곡이 울려 퍼지는 것이 아닌가. 그래서 집을 나서려는 10대 아들의 새로운 음악취향을 치하했다.

그런데 녀석의 말인즉 "저건 내가 듣고 있었던 게 아니에요. 도둑이 들지 못하게 하려고 틀어 놓은 거예요"란다.
