Little Johnny was practicing the violin in the living room while his father was trying to read his paper.The family dog was lying in the room，and as the screeching sounds of Johnny's violin reached his ears，he began to howl loudly.

The father listened to the dog and the violin as long as he could.Then he jumped up，slammed his paper to the floor and yelled above the noise."For pity's sake，can't you play something the dog doesn't know？"


아버지가 거실에서 신문을 읽으려는데 어린 조니가 바이올린 연습을 했다. 거실에 드러누워 있는 강아지는 조니가 바이올린을 긁어대며 깽깽거리는 소리를 내자 큰 소리로 짖어댔다.

개가 짖어대는 소리와 바이올린 소리를 참다못한 아버지가 벌떡 일어나 신문을 마룻바닥에 내던지면서 목청껏 소리쳤다. "제발 강아지가 알지 못하는 소리를 낼 수는 없는 거야？"
