[비즈니스 유머] 의미있는 침묵 - Significant silence

A mother and a daughter were in the kitchen washing dishes while the son and father sat in the living room reading newspapers. Suddenly there was the sound of dishes crashing and breaking on the floor. There was silence.

“It was Mom,” said the son finally.

“How do you know?” said the father.

“Because she isn’t saying anything.”

모녀는 부엌에서 설거지를 하고 있고 부자는 거실에서 신문을 읽고 있었다. 갑자기 접시들이 와지끈 떨어지면서 부엌 바닥에서 부서지는 소리가 났다. 그리고는 그저 조용하기만 했다.

“엄마가 떨어뜨린 거네요.” 한참만에 아들이 말했다.

“그걸 어떻게 알아?” 아버지가 물었다.

“엄마가 아무 말도 하지 않잖아요.”
