A patient complained to the doctor that he was unable to sleep at night. The doctor told him to eat something before going to bed. “But,” protested the patient, “two months ago you told me not to eat anything before you go to bed.”

“That was two months ago,” the doctor replied. “Indeed this just illustrates the great strides science is making these days.”

불면증 때문에 찾아온 환자더러 의사는 잠자리에 들기 전 뭘 좀 먹어보라고 했다. “하지만 두 달 전에는 잠자리에 들기 전에는 아무것도 먹지 말라고 했잖아요.” 환자가 볼멘소리를 했다.

“그건 두 달 전 이야기 아닙니까.실은 그게 요즘 과학이 얼마나 빠른 속도로 발전하고 있는지를 보여주는 거랍니다.”
