Cosmetics firms have set this year''s target for combined turnover at900 billion won and have an aggressive sales campaign planned. The goal is almost double their combined 1987 turnover which exceeded500 billion won. The target is a 20-percent increase over the 750 billion won recordedin 1989. The volume of the domestic cosmetic market remained below 440billion won until 1986 and rose to 520 billion won in 1987 and to 650billion won in over 1988. Last year''s turnover of 750 billion won represented a 15.3-percentincrease 1988 although it fell a little short of the original target. Last year the seven leading makers achieved 652.5 billion won incombined turnover and minor firms recorded 97.5 billion won or 13percent of the total.
