The first time I sold painting was during a shopping-mall art fair.
I was disappointed by all the people who stopped at my booth,only to leave without buying anything. One couple,however,kept returning to admire a particular painting,and they finally decided to make the purchase.
My first sale! Someone did appreciate my work.
Then,as they walked away, I heard the woman say,"Won't Grandma's wedding portrait look wonderful in this frame"내 그림이 처음으로 팔린 것은 쇼핑몰 전시회에서였다.
나는 내 그림이 전시된 부스를 둘러보고는 그림을 사지도 않은 채 발길을 돌리는 숱한 사람들에게 실망했다.
그런데 유독 남녀 한쌍이 연거푸 찾아와서는 그림 하나에 찬사를 늘어놓더니 급기야 그것을 사기로 결정을 했다.내 그림이 처음으로 팔린 것이다! 누군가가 내 그림을 알아준 것이다.
그런데 그들이 저만치 나갔을 때 여자는 "이 액자에 넣으면 할머니 결혼초상화가 아주 돋보일 거예요"라고 하는 것이었다.
